After testing the machine, we were able to engrave with very high
quality on wood, plastics and leather. We were also able to test the machine
engraving on metals and it gave a remarkable result.
In the first five weeks of the semester the design team worked on scouting the local market for the required materials and parts which were selected in the ME491 final design. Unfortunately, not all the parts were found so the design team ordered those part from international market. Some of the raw materials were found in the local market but with a different specification where the design was based on using plywood thicknesses of 20 and 25 millimeters but the only available thickness in the market was 18 millimeters so the design was modified to use those raw materials. Based on the recommendation of the advisors and the examiners the design team added a cover to the design to increase its safety and storage flexibility.
